“The area of climate change has a dramatic impact on national security. Rising sea levels, severe droughts, the melting of the polar caps, the more frequent and devastating natural disasters all raise demand for humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.”He went on to call climate change a threat to national security. This, of course, is very embarrassing for global warming deniers because there is no politics involved here. Secretary Panetta and the DoD is responsible for protecting the country and anticipating future scenarios that may threaten us. They employ some of the finest scientists and minds in the country to work these problems. These people have access to vast amounts of geophysical data collected all over the world, some of which is not available to the public. And, the conclusion of these scientists?
-- Defense Secretary Leon Panetta in a speech to the Environmental Defense Fund, as quoted by The Washington Examiner.
Climate change is real and is a threat to our national security.
Once again, science trumps deniers.
